Francesco Ardolino (Roma, 1966) earned his PhD from the Universitat de Barcelona in Catalan Literature and now is Tenure-Track Professor of the Department of Modern Language and Literature in the Universitat de Barcelona.
He was awarded the Crítica «Serra d'Or» Prize 2005 for his book La solitud de la paraula. Estudi sobre l'obra narrativa de Jordi Sarsanedas and the Fundació Joan Maragall Prize 2004 and 'Crítica Serra d'Or' Prize 2007 for Entre el dogma i l'heretgia. He has edited in Catalan the works of Federigo Tozzi, Dino Campana, Gabriele D'Annunzio, Salvatore Quasimodo, Italo Calvino, the integral version of the Book of Marco Polo and the Catalan traslation of Dante's La vita nuova by Manuel de Montoliu.
He is the Editor of the journals Haidé. Estudis maragallians and Compàs d'amalgama and he serves on the Editorial Board of Revista de Catalunya, Journal of Catalan Studies (JOCS), Caracters and Visat.
He is vice-president of the Associazione Italiana di Studi Catalani and he is part of the team in charge of the Complete Works (Critical Edition) of Joan Maragall.
