Dr. Patricia Elgoibar is a tenure-track lecturer in the department of Business at the University of Barcelona. Previously, she has worked as professor in negotiation and academic director of the MSc in International Business Negotiation at IESEG School of Management (France). Patricia developed her PhD at KU Leuven (Belgium) and at the University of Seville (Spain) for which she was awarded with the prize of best doctoral thesis in social science for the year 2013 (Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado en Ciencias Sociales).
As a researcher, Patricia holds a six-year term research recognition (sexenio de investigación). She has published 3 international books as co-editor: 'Building trust and constructive conflict behavior in organizations' Springer International, 2016; 'Promoting social dialogue in European organizations. Human Resources management and constructive conflict behavior' Springer International, 2015; and 'Ten steps for empowering worker representatives in the new European industrial relations' McGraw Hill, 2012. As well as more than 15 book chapters in highly ranked editorials (McGraw Hill, Springer International and Oxford University Press) and diverse journal articles in JCR and SCOPUS ranked journals. Patricia has also presented her research in more than 25 international conferences and is a co-founder and member in the board of the European Continuous Conference on Collaborative Conflict (E4C).
Regarding her research projects, she has been in the coordination team of the European research project funded by the European Commission from 2010 until 2016: 'New European industrial relations (NEIRE)'. Currently she participates in research projects funded by the Ministry of Sciences in Spain and by the Government of Catalunya (AGAUR).
Her research interests are conflict management, negotiation, inclusion, gender equality and social dialogue.
