Professor Lector of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona, I teach Drawing and Creation in the Projectes Intermèdia: Drawings and Graphic Expansions field, Contemporary Art Productions Section of the Department of Visual Arts and Design.
My interest is directed towards the synergies between the processes and projects of contemporary art, currently attending, among others, to the confluences between poetic language and expanded drawing, that is, poetic and artistic experimentations.
My doctoral thesis "Cine como fuente documental para el estudio de barrios marginales en España", I began to weave between artistic language and geographical perception. An investigation on the production of stories between the image and the idea.
I have worked on projects with artists such as: Javier Codesal, Daniel G. Andújar, Ignacio Gómez de Liaño, Lugán, Elena Asins, Alex Francés, Alexanco, Yturralde, Kaoru Katayama or Miguel Espada among others. In various art centers and museums: Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (MNCARS) in Madrid, Centro del Carmen in Valencia, Palau de la Virreina in Barcelona or Museu d'Art Contemporáni d'Eivissa. At a professional level I have developed a long activity (more than twenty years) as a cultural manager, curating art (more than forty exhibitions) and editing books abundantly.
At the same time, I have investigated the relationship between computing and artistic creation, since the arrival in Spain of the first supercomputer in 1968. I published the book "El Centro de Cálculo. Ciencia arte y tecnología. 1968-1973" edited by Editorial Complutense, which won the Prize for The Best Science Research from the Union de Editores Universitarios in 2021.
I have taught university classes in: Complutense, Granada, Alicante, Nevada - USA, Aix-Marseille - France or Bologna - Italy; of Geography, Art History, Museology and Art Conservation.
In 2017 I obtained a residency in international competition, at l'IMéRA, (Institute for Advanced Research) of the University d'Aix-Marseille - France, with the project "Enquête sur l'amour", a work between the artistic and the geographical knowledge areas.
I am part of the research project "Eroticorum graecorum fragmenta in papyris membranesve reperta", sponsored by the BBVA Foundation and "Texto y contexto en los papiros de novelas griegas: límites entre realidad y ficción en el universo femenino" sponsored by the Generalitat Valenciana.
