CV summary.

I am currently a Marie Curie Fellow at the MAiMA Research Group of the Universitat de Barcelona (UB). My research interests are focused on the use of isotopic tools to assess the fate of contaminants (both inorganic and inorganic) in groundwater and contaminated soil, with a strong focus on experimental studies at laboratory and field scale to characterize transport and fate of contaminants as well as natural and induced attenuation processes.

I graduated from the Universitat de Barcelona' Earth Science Ph.D. program in 2010 (obtained with Excellent Cum Laude). The thesis was performed in the Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA, CSIC), focusing on denitrification by pyrite oxidation and its potential use as a bioremediation strategy for nitrate-contaminated groundwater. I have 9 years of postdoctoral experience, including 3.5 years in a prestigious international university (Université de Neuchâtel, Centre for Hydrogeology and Geothermics). My postdoctoral experience has focused mainly on the development and application of isotope methods to assess the fate and remediation of organic contaminants (chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons, pesticides) in soil and groundwater.

I have published 21 articles in journals indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI), most of them (17), in high impact factor journals which are in the Q1, 13 articles in other peer-reviewed journals, 9 chapters of books, several project reports from 34 projects (funded by the EU, the Spanish government, the Catalan government and private companies), as well as more than 80 oral or poster contributions to national and international conferences.

Apart from research projects, I have participated in several third-party funding projects for the transfer of knowledge to private companies and regulatory sectors. Regarding my teaching experience, I have participated in several university courses and I have co-supervised or I am currently co-supervising 2 PhD Theses, 4 MSc. Theses and 4 BSc. Final Projects at the Universitat de Barcelona, the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and the University of Neuchâtel. During two academic seasons (2017-2019), I was 'Profesor Asociado' (a non-tenured part-time position) at the Department of Mineralogy, Petrology and Applied Geology, Universitat de Barcelona. I have the certifications 'Professorat Lector' (tenure-eligible lecturer, since 2012) and 'Professorat Agregat' (tenure, non-civil Associate professor, since 2020) from the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU).

Transferència de Tecnologia. The effectiveness in the transfer of scientific achievements developed to public and/or private bodies is reflected in the participation in 17 research projects or contracts of special relevance with public funding bodies and/or companies (Agencia Catalana de l'Aigua, Agencia de Residus de Catalunya, Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona, Repsol YPF, among others)

Actualment, sóc investigadora Marie Curie (MSCA) al Grup de Recerca MAiMA de la Universitat de Barcelona. Els meus interessos de recerca se centren en l'ús d'eines multi-isotòpiques per avaluar el destí dels contaminants (inorgànics i orgànics) en aigües subterrànies i sòls contaminats, amb un fort focus en estudis experimentals a escala de laboratori i de camp per caracteritzar els processos d'atenuació natural i induïda.

Àmplia experiència en el desenvolupament i aplicació de mètodes isotòpics a contaminants industrials (dissolvents clorats, hidrocarburs del petroli) i agrícoles (nitrats, pesticides). He obtingut experiència internacional a través d'una beca postdoctoral de 4 anys al Centre d'Hidrogeologia i Geotermia de la Universitat de Neuchâtel (Suïssa). El meu projecte actual de MSCA se centra en demostrar l'aplicabilitat de les tècniques multi-isotòpiques per identificar fonts, per avaluar el destí de pesticides al medi, i per a l'avaluació d'estratègies d'atenuació natural o induïda. A més dels projectes de recerca competitius, he participat en projectes de finançament de tercers per a la transferència de coneixement a empreses privades i administració.
