Reaxys Guidance Team (2014-2016): As a finalist of the Reaxys PhD Prize in 2014 I had the opportunity to join the Reaxys Guidance Team. The activities of the Guidance Team consisted on monthly meetings on Skype with other members of the Guidance Team and representative of Reaxys (Pieder Caduff, Senior Manager Enabling Technologies & Innovation). PubHD (2015): PubHD consisted of a series of talks taking place weekly in pubs in Manchester where PhD students and post-docs could explain to the general public their research. Institut Salesians de Sarrià, lecture on the scientific method (2016, 2019, 2020): I was invited to lecture students of the IB Diploma Programme ('Batxillerat Internacional') from the 'Institut Salesians de Sarrià' (Barcelona) where I explained the Scientific Method and how I applied it during my PhD and Post-Doctoral studies. The aim of the talk and the discussion that followed was to illustrate how the Scientific Method works and how it is used in real research activities (Méritos no clasificados)
British Science Week (March 2018): Participation in the graphene stall at Manchester during this country-wide (UK) celebration of science. The stall displayed all sorts of objects and devices incorporating graphene. Bluedot (20th-22nd July 2018): Preparation of a stand for the exhibition of props to explain the properties of graphene and its applications in material science and biomedicine to the general public attending the Bluedot music and science festival in the UK. Batx2Lab (July 2019): Participated in the Batx2Lab program by Barcelona Science Park (PCB) to serve as tutor of a "batxillerat" student (Aina Morros) during her research project (treball de recerca). Barcelona Science Fest (Festival de la Ciència de Barcelona 2019): Preparation of games and activities to explain what things around us are made of from a chemical point of view.
