Miquel Wert (Barcelona, 1982) has a degree in Fine Arts from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona. He is an artist and adjunct professor in the Department of Arts and Conservation-Restoration at the same university.
Wert, who combines his teaching activity with the artistic activity at his studio and the realization of large format murals, has made about a hundred individual and collective exhibitions in galleries, centers, institutions and art fairs in the national and international field since 2000.
His work is present in private collections in more than ten countries, and public collections such as the 'Reial Acadèmia de Belles Arts de Sant Jordi', 'JISER Reflexions Mediterrànies', 'Cervezas Ambar', 'Sogaris', 'Vermut Miró', Fundão Municipality', 'Viseu Municipality', 'Tudela Municipality', 'Can Picafort Municipality', 'Mas de Barberans Municipality', 'Cooperativa Obrera Tarraconense', or the 'University of Barcelona Heritage Fund'. His murals can be seen in countries such as France, Austria, Portugal, Tunisia and Spain.
He has been awarded, among other prizes, with the 1st Prize in the 'LIV Certamen Internacional de Dibujo Ynglada-Guillot', and with a Mention of Honor to the 'Stipendutstilling' organized by the 'Galleri Ramfjord' of Oslo (Norway).
He has also received several production scholarships, and has carried out residencies in national and international centers and institutions, including the 'Cercle Artístic de Sant Lluc', 'Torrearte' and 'JISER Reflexions Mediterrànies'.
He has given lectures, workshops and seminars at the 'Escola d'Art i Disseny a Tarragona', 'Centre d'Art Maristany', 'B-Murals | Centre d'Art Urbà', 'La Destil-leria | Espai Cultural', 'Instituto Josep Mestres i Busquets' among others.
His pictorial work is represented and exhibited regularly at the 'Galerie Art du Temps' and 'Green Flowers Art Gallery' in France, the 'Galeria Anquin's' in Spain and the 'Galerie Friedmann-Hahn' in Berlin (Germany).
