Currently associated professor in the MAiMA group at the faculty of Earth Sciences in the University of Barcelona (UB), Dr. Rosell has achieved an excellent interdisciplinary academic background during her 20 years of research experience. Starting from the base of her university studies in Environmental Sciences (she graduated in 2001 after the defence of a final project carried out in the prestigious Spanish Council for Scientific Research, CSIC), going through the development of analytical methodologies and their application to the environmental monitoring of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) during her PhD in the same group of the CSIC (2001-2006, European PhD obtained with Excellent Cum Laude in Chemistry by the UB), to the training in microbiology combined with the application of innovative isotopic and molecular tools to characterize and evaluate the in situ biodegradation of VOCs acquired during her pre- and post-doctoral stays (5 years in total) at the prominent and international center, Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research-UFZ in Leipzig, Germany. Since 2011, Dr. Rosell consolidates her professional career back in her home city and in the UB (thanks first to a Juan de la Cierva research contract and a Marie Curie integration grant, later a Ramón y Cajal contract), acquiring new knowledge in geology and hydrochemistry while teaching environmental mineralogy and chemistry, she supervises undergraduate (total of 8 final degree projects), master (4 theses) and PhD students (2 finished, 2 in progress) and gains experience in transfer of knowledge to companies on field remediation treatments (15 projects, in 5 of them as PI) and new applications of stable isotopes in food authentication (CDTI and ACCIÓ programs, 4 projects in total in all as PI). Her motivation, perseverance and collaborations at international level make her one of the references in compound specific-stable isotope analysis (CSIA) worldwide with an index h = 20 after a total of 39 articles in journals indexed in the Science Citation Index (SCI) of which 31 in the first quartile (more than 1000 total citations), 5 book chapters (2 in SCI), participation in 52 projects, 33 of which were competitive (12 regional, 8 national, 9 European among others) and 15 as PI.
