My research is focused on the reconstruction of deglacial climatic conditions and marine carbon cycle evolution using both marine sediment and deep-sea corals.
I did my PhD at the CMIMA-CSIC/ULPGC and continued with a postdoctoral contract in the University of Cambridge during 3 years using marine microfossils from the Equatorial Pacific and from the global ocean, respectively. I included deep-sea corals as a paleoclimatic archive in my research field within the frame of the ERC project 'TIMED' from Dr. Isabel Cacho, with who I won a postdoctoral contract Juan de la Cierva-Formación and moved to University of Barcelona in 2018-2019.
My current project is thus focused on the reconstruction of Mediterranean Outflow Water during the last deglaciation, for what I perform parallel 14C and U/Th dating in deep-sea corals, as well as Nd isotope analyses in coeval foraminifera.
