PhD in Earth Science in 2010 at the University of Barcelona. Presently, she is an Associate Professor at the Earth and Ocean Dynamics Department of the University of Barcelona, member of the Geomodels Research Institute and of the Geodynamics and Basin Analysis Research Group, tutor of students from the Geology Degree, she leads a research project, supervises a PhD thesis and she has obtained 2 periods of six-year research merits and 2 periods of five-years teaching merits.
Her main research interests focus on the Characterization of hydrocarbon and water reservoirs, which includes Stratigraphic modeling, Fluid flow simulations of hydrocarbon production, Stratigraphy, Sedimentology and Basin analysis. She initiated her research in these disciplines in 2002, when she was awarded a fellowship grant to collaborate with the former Department of Stratigraphy, Paleontology and Marine Geosciences of the University of Barcelona. She benefited from two training stages at the Centre for Integrated Petroleum Research of the University of Bergen (Norway) during her PhD. During her post-doctoral period, she stayed at the Colombian publicly owned hydrocarbon company Ecopetrol, in the frame of a collaboration agreement, and at the CSIC centers in Barcelona (ICTJA and IDAEA) in relation to the characterization of the Besòs delta aquifer and the water resources management. She also participated in an oceanographic cruise in the Black Sea with Ifremer in the frame of gas hydrate research.
She participated in 22 research and development projects, and she is presently the principal researcher in a project that focuses on the geological modeling of gas hydrates, which is funded by the Spanish Research Agency (Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities) and the European Regional Development Fund, in the frame of the "R&D&I Society Challenge Oriented" statewide program.
