Currently, I am Serra Húnter Fellow in the Departament de Mineralogia, Petrologia i Geologia Aplicada at the Universitat of Barcelona. In addition, I am a senior researcher at the MAiMA Research Group. My research interests focus on the use of multi-isotopic tools to assess the fate of contaminants (inorganic and organic) in groundwater and contaminated soils, with a strong focus on laboratory- and field-scale experimental studies to characterize natural and induced attenuation processes.
Extensive experience in the development and application of isotopic methods to industrial (chlorinated solvents, petroleum hydrocarbons) and agricultural (nitrates, pesticides) pollutants. I have gained international experience through a 4-year postdoctoral fellowship at the Centre d'Hydrogéologie et de Géothermie of the Université de Neuchâtel (Switzerland). My Marie Curie project (2019-2021) focused on demonstrating the applicability of multi-isotope techniques to identify sources, to assess the fate of pesticides in the environment, and to evaluate natural or induced remediation strategies. In addition to competitive research projects, I have participated in third-party funding projects for knowledge transfer to private companies and administration.
