Pilar Marco is full associate professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Chemistry.
Her research activity is focused on the development of sustainable technologies for environmental engineering area and environmental impacts. Her research interest is focused on the treatment wastewaters by advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) and their environmental assessment. In this context, her main work is based on the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) tools applied to evaluate the potential environmental impacts. She has directed around 70 Final Degree Projects and Master's Final Projects. Half of them focused in the use of these environmental footprints, LCA and ERA, to management the applicability of AOPs to improve the quality of water reuse. She also collaborates with other teams of recognized world prestige in the LCA field as Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and others private institutions (LaVola, SOREA¿).
At the University of Barcelona, she teaches different subjects specialized in environmental engineering, safety and environmental footprint, as LCA and ERA as a tool for Green Chemistry Assessment. She has published more than 30 papers and has more than 100 participations in congresses. She participates in different Master's degree and in different grades. She has also coordinated the master's degree in Environmental Engineering of the University of Barcelona.
