My research is focused on the development and application of high performance separation techniques coupled to mass spectrometry to solve complex analytical problems related to biomedicine, pharmaceuticals, food industry and forensic sciences. I am especially interested in the separation, the sensitivity enhancement, the characterization and the reproducibility of the analysis of peptides, proteins, glycoproteins, oligomeric proteins, metabolites and bioactive compounds in biological samples, biopharmaceuticals and food using LC-MS, CE-MS and related techniques, as well as in the interpretation of the data with chemometrics tools of multivariate data analysis. I am an expert in the development and application of on-line solid phase extraction capillary electrophoresis mass spectrometry (on-line SPE-CE-MS).
In education, I have participated in several projects to improve and innovate in teaching and I am a member of the teaching innovation group recognized by the UB 'Analytical Chemistry in Experimental and Health Sciences'
