I am an Assistant Professor at University of Barcelona-School of Economics where I am affiliated with the Applied Economics Department as part of the Public Policies Section. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universitat Rovira i Virgili in Tarragona (2013). Before joining UB, I was awarded with a Max Weber fellowship at the European University Institute (2015-16) where I was also part of the Florence School of Regulation-Climate (FSR-Climate) as an Associate Researcher (2016-17).
My research contributions have lied mainly at the intersection between policy evaluation and environmental economics. Most of my contributions dealt with climate policies in Europe, including the effects of carbon market energy or the impacts of electricity pricing reforms in the today's energy transition. This research and other can be found in top field journals like The Economic Journal, Science-Advances, Journal of Environmental Economics and Management or Climate Policy, among others.
I have also been part of more than ten research teams of competitive projects and IP of two of them. Also, I have engaged in transfer activities with public institutions for the Austrian Environmental Agency and the Catalan Public Policy Evaluation Agency. In both cases to evaluate the implementation of environmental taxes. I also enjoy teaching and capacity building and I am currently supervising four PhD thesis at UB on climate policy and environmental Economics.
