I am professor at the University of Barcelona. Director of the journal Revista de Economía Crítica (http://revistaeconomiacritica.org/). I have worked in the field of ecological economics, in which I have made relevant contributions, producing books, articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, dissemination papers, and teaching materials. My main research lines include energy & climate change economics, the linkages between economic growth and environmental pressures, and the design of economic instruments for environmental policy. I have provided scientific advice applied to societal concerns around my areas of expertise, coordinating and participating in consultancy studies commissioned by public authorities.
After several decades of research activities, I have prepared more than one hundred publications. It is worth featuring my book 'Economía ecológica y política ambiental' (with Joan Martinez Alier), originally published in 2000 by the Fondo de Cultura Económica (FCE), México D.F. After several re-printings, the book currently runs its third edition (2013), which has been extensively revised and updated. This piece has been and still is vastly used as a textbook for studies on economics and the environment in Spanish speaking countries in both undergraduate and master's degree courses. Scopus records 17 articles published in high impact scientific journals according to the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in which I have contributed to. I have published in journals such as Ecological Economics, Wiley Interdisciplinary Reviews (WIREs) Climate Change, Environmental and Resource Economics, Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Waste Management, Journal of Industrial Ecology, and Oxford Review of Economic Policy. Scopus also records more than 525 citations of these works. The total citations of my books and articles recorded in google scholar are more than 2,750.
