Dr. Mònica Mir research interest is focused on the area of electrochemical biosensors for biomedical applications, Integrated in microfluidic for lab-on-a-chip, point-of-care and organ-on-a-chip platforms and implantable sensors. She is Assistant Professor at the University of Barcelona since 2016, member of the Center for Biomedical Research Network on Bioengineering (CIBER-bbn) since 2008 and Senior Researcher at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). Prior to joining IBEC in 2008, she was at the Max Planck Institute from 2007-2008. Dr. Mir has been involved and managed 12 EU projects, 4 Industrial projects and 6 National projects, being the main investigator in some of those. As a result of an Industrial project, she has managed a Join Unit between the company and IBEC, giving as a product a commercialised point of care portable diagnosis device. She is actively working in applied projects in close collaboration with Hospitals, with vivo clinical pre-validation of some of my technology, which has resulted in a Patent. Dr. Mir has expertise in students training and teams management, with the Direction of 3 PhD students, and another currently undertaken. So far, she has published 1 book, 2 book's chapters and more than 50 peer-reviewed scientific journals; 56 % of my papers in the first quartile (Q1), with over 1365 citations and H-index of 16 (Scopus). Dr. Mir has over 90 contributions to international conferences, some of them as invited speaker and collaborated as scientific committee and Chair in some of these congresses. She is actively collaborating with International Journals as editor in the international journals Sensors, Bioengineering, Biosensors, and Sensing and Bio-Sensing Research. In addition to being the Grant evaluation committee and scientific expert for research project evaluation in the Swiss National Science Foundation, the DBT India Alliance, Agence Nationale de la Recherche in France, Agencia Nacional e Investigación y Desarrollo in Chile, National Science Center in Poland, and the Czech Science Foundation- info
