I have a Degree and Master in Chemistry, obtained at the University of Bologna (Italy). I did the PhD at the National Research Council (Italy) in surface science, micro-nano fabrication techniques and atomic force microscopy (AFM). After the PhD (suma cum laude and prized as best thesis for the aa. 2009-2010), I did postdocs in different institutes of Spain (nanoGUNE, IBEC) and USA (ASRC-CUNY, MSKCC), where I specialized in different applications of scanning probe techniques, from the fabrication to the sample characterization. My actual research interests are in the AFM-based characterization of biological materials, from nanometer size structures to cells and tissues from hospital, in particular focusing on the mechanical characterization. I also have interest in the application of microfabrication techniques to implement in cell-based studies- info
