Marc Ribó is Full Professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics and Coordinator of the Astronomy and Astrophysics Section in the Department of Quantum Physics and Astrophysics of the University of Barcelona, member of the Institute of Cosmos Sciences of the UB, and member of the Research Committee of the Institute of Space Studies of Catalonia. He investigates high-energy astrophysical sources, mainly those of galactic origin. In particular, he studies X-ray and gamma-ray binaries that contain black holes and neutron stars and show emission across the electromagnetic spectrum to understand accretion/ejection processes and particle acceleration, radiation mechanisms and absorption processes within binary systems. He also studies binary systems in general, and those containing massive stars in particular, as well as runaway stars to understand the stellar evolution of massive stars and supernova explosions. Marc Ribó is a member of the MAGIC, LST and CTA international collaborations, where he has held positions of responsibility. He has also been Director of the Montsec Observatory. He has published more than 450 scientific articles, 10 of which in the journals Nature and Science. He has supervised 4 PhD Theses and has been principal investigator in 8 competitive research projects. He has also held numerous conferences and seminars, both specialized and for the public. He is currently professor of Astronomy and Astrophysics in the Physics Degree, as well as professor of High Energy Astrophysics in the Master's in Astrophysics, Particle Physics and Cosmology at the UB- info
