My research focuses on phase transitions displaying coupling between different degrees of freedom in a wide range of materials, namely magnetic shape-memory alloys, rare-earth compounds, ferroelectric oxides, and organic and inorganic salts. My particular interest is in the giant caloric effects that can arise under these conditions and their exploitation for more sustainable cooling devices- info
