Dr. Ujala is specialized in penal law. She also specializes in consulting of lawyers buffets. Dr. Joshi served as Deputy Judge in the Provincial Court of Barcelona and the High Court of Catalonia.She directs and carries out research programs in the Theory of Crime, Socioeconomic Crimes and Gender Violence. She has trained professionally in Spain and Germany and has developed her teaching career in Germany, England South America and Spain.
PhD Joshi graduated in Law in 1985 by the Autonomous University of Barcelona and gained Extraordinary Award at the end of the course. She obtained her Ph.D. degree in Criminal Law in 1990 by the University of Barcelona. Since 1991, she is professor of Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences at the University of Barcelona.
Previously she'd been working as Substitute Judge High Court of JusticeSubstitute Judge of the Provincial Court of Barcelona; Director and legal adviser at ICDR; Legal adviser on battered women issues; Legal adviser on legal issues, UB Foundations Group, University of Barcelona.
From 1998 to 2001 Ujala had been directed the Department of Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences at the University of Barcelona.
PhD Ujala Joshi has issued been a lecturer a number of conferences in several Spanish and foreign universities, as well as in the Barcelona Bar Association or Police Academy in Mollet de Valles, Barcelona, Spain.
In the field of general theory of crime and special part of criminal law, Dr. Ujala has 5 books in Spanish and one in German between 1992 and 2009. In three other anthologies, she is the author of several chapters. Following her research, in addition to books and book chapters, Dr. Ujala has 9 articles published articles in prestigious Spanish criminal law issues. Dr. Ujala has produced several opinions, two of them for public institutions in Catalonia (Generalitat de Catalunya and Cornellá City Hall). The third one had been produced in a matter of corruption in Supreme Courte of Justice for the request of the Government of Peru.
